By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
Last night I started bleeding heavily in a place I shouldn't be bleeding. Went to the ER and it stopped while I was there. My INR is only 2.0, so it's not too high. Anyway, they had a doctor come in and tell me he needs to look inside my bladder to make sure there is nothing there. Oh....the joys of warfarin. Oh...they kept me overnight to make sure the bleeding had stopped...gave me some possible reasons it happened and sent me home today. After ultrasounding the leg where I fell. Seems that does continue to haunt you. My leg is now swollen to my ankle.

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
I'm not clear---- have they actually 'looked inside' your bladder yet?
And I'm assuming that they didn't find a DVT in the leg?

They did an ultrasound of my leg which was clear. And a CT of my bladder. But the Urologist told me you can's see tumors on a CT scan. He has to go in with a camera and look. Says it's in the office, no big deal, 10 minutes and I'll know for sure.
Definitely will keep you posted. I was kind of interested in the fact that over that last 4 days that bruise has gotten bigger. Not so colorful lower down, but definitely there....like water dripping down the front of your window.
Several years ago, I had a bladder infection, before I was on warfarin, (used to get them frequently) and I passed a very large clot. I'd been having pain while urinating for about a day, but no blood, just going to the bathroom constantly . Then in the middle of the night, I got up to go to the bathroom and passed a clot. It just happened that one time during that particular infection. So I hope that's all it is, some kind of bladder infection they can treat.
Then I found a journal article that presented cases of low dose amoxicillin daily to prevent bladder infections and showed that to my doctor.
He 'complied' (grin) and since then----- no more bladder infections. I don't know if he even had to adjust my Coumadin dose to it. I find that much nicer and sensible than waiting until I have a bladder infection, go to doctor, wait for culture THEN be put on an antibiotic, some which aren't as nice to the body as amoxicillin and for which there can be some not so nice side effects. Cipro is one of them!!!!
If a person gets frequent bladder infections it might be worth considering.
