Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

So, I've been getting progressively more dizzy and light-headed for the last month. My eyes aren't focusing well and it seems like I can't be upright for more than a few minutes without feeling sick. The more active I am, the worse I feel.
I thought it was an inner ear problem caused by clogged sinuses, but I've been on medication for that for a couple of weeks and the dizziness is getting worse, not better.
I saw my ENT this morning and she discovered that although I have a normal blood pressure when I'm lying down (110/70), my blood pressure is dropping when I stand up (92/60). My heart is not compensating for the need to suddenly pump blood uphill. The dizziness, light-headedness, and blurry vision can all be caused by low blood pressure.
The concern now is that I may have some sort of heart damage from the PEs putting strain on the right side of my heart. My doc has scheduled me for an echocardiogram tomorrow and wants me to see both a cardiologist and a pulmonologist.
Anyone had any experience with anything like this? How'd it turn out? I'm feeling a little panicky at this point.

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
I know it's hard to do, but try not to worry. Just wait to see what they say.
The problem now is figuring out what is causing this. No one is convinced that it is connected to the PEs, but I'm not sure what else would be doing this, since I've never had BP problems before the PEs. If anyone has any insight, I'd love to hear it. This is a whole new world.
