By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
Have any long-term Warfarin users been through bouts of gastro-intestinal illness while on the drug?
I had what they used to call the 24-hour bug (fortunately lasted only 18 hrs or so) in which I could not keep anything down; much vomiting and diahrrea. It struck 4 hrs after Warfarin dose so I do not know how much of that got in the system that day. The best I could think of was take a partial dose when things calmed and hope for the best the next day; and try to get on emergency Lovenox had the condition lasted.

I have ulcerative colitis which causes me to have an absorption problem with a lot of nutrients, vitamins and drugs and I've not experienced any issues with my warfarin because of it.
