By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

Generic Lovenox Politics

Considering how ridiculously expensive Lovenox is, this article (posted yesterday) about the (possible) coming of generic Lovenox is really interesting. I also got a clue *why* Lovenox is so expensive. It would be great to have an affordable, dependable Lovenox around for us lifers who may have to go back to it every so often.

Yeah, this is interesting and I hope that something comes out of it soon. I've been on lovenox periodically since my PE in 2007 and fortunately have insurance that covered part of it, but it still blows my mind how expensive it is.

Bad news...
It was accepted by the FDA last week, BUT the makers of LOVENOX are suing the FDA.
