Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

I'm going to Disney World!
I didn't actually plan it this way, but we leave for a week-long Florida vacation on Saturday, which happens to be the 4th anniversary of the day I was admitted to the ER with multiple bilateral PEs.
I will say that recovery has been a long haul, but I've been pretty much back to my normal self the last couple of years. I'm heading off to Disney with no concerns about the humidity wreaking havoc on my lungs. No worries about walking everywhere for a week on a leg that still has two DVTs in it. And I'm not stressing the plane flight, either, as I fly pretty frequently. It's all gonna be a good time; I don't expect to think about clots AT ALL the entire time I'm there.
And, I'll also note that I didn't even realize it was my clotiversary when I scheduled the trip. I had forgotten the exact date of my PEs until I was looking through my calendar from 2013. I consider it to be a good thing that 1/25 isn't branded into my mind anymore.
For those of you just starting out on this journey ... it IS a journey. But, it does get better and life does return to normal. It might be a slightly adjusted normal, but at least it is normal. Hang in there...

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
better and be lived well.
Fl is a little cold now but will probable seem warm to you.

Actually, we're heading to Florida in January on purpose. Neither hubby or I like hot weather AT ALL, so we figured it'd be best to head out when the temperatures are tolerable (by our standards). I'm more worried about rain at this point!

It's so true, after a while you don't think about the date as much or at least with feeling less like you somehow have to honor that date in some solemn manner. My anniversary falls on the same anniversary as 9/11 and even with that, I don't really think about my PE anniversary as much anymore except when they show 9/11 stuff on TV, and I think, oh yeah, remember that time I nearly died in my living room from a PE? Our minds are built to protect us, I believe and so the memories sort of shrink a bit, not that you don't forget but that you allow room for all the other stuff that happens in our lives post PE. This is a good thing!
I hope you have a great trip!
