Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

FLEX account reimbursements?

So, my husband and I have a FLEX account, where you pull a portion of your pre-tax pay to put away for medical expenses. I'm trying to figure out whether compression stockings and medical alert bracelets are considered "medical expenses" or not.

I consider the compression hose pretty necessary for travel and the medical alert bracelet was recommended to me by multiple doctors.

I just called my insurance company and they don't cover either item. The lady there said she thought I could have my doctor write a letter explaining "medical necessity" for these items in order to get them reimbursed by the FLEX folks.

Anyone dealt with this before or have any luck with this? If you have any tips or suggestions, I would most appreciate it.

You really need to talk to the flex folks. The rules changed Jan.1st. Before the new rules I would tend to think the compression stockings might of been covered. However, I know need a note from my doctor to have them cover my Zyrtec. The company that takes care of my flex befits sent out many emails about the new rules, but the only thing I remember is the stuff like the zyrtec.

Check with your Flex Account administrator because they should have a list of acceptable items and services for reimbursement.

Yes your doctor can fax a letter your insurance company indicating they are required. That's what I had to do, and they covered them.

    We all have 24 hours in a day.  How we spend these hours is important.  Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do.  Gonna have to work on that.Your turn.  Tell me another truth.
