By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

First post PE flight tomorrow:O

Tomorrow I am flying to my mum and dad's place. That is a 5hr flight from Perth to Sydney then a 2hr flight from Sydney to Narrabri in the NW of the state. I am still on warfarin and my inr was 2.5 yesterday so it should all be fine, but naturally i am in a reflective mood about my previous experience and will be little nervous inflight.

Then in 4 weeks time I finally emigrate to the USA (been waiting 2yrs) so it's 3 flights in 2 days to get there.

Yeah, it's natural to feel a little nervous, but you just have to keep your wits about you and remember that you are anticoagulated.

I hate flying. I really do. I mean, you have to if you want to get anywhere, but it is something I really do not enjoy. 3 flights in 2 days... ugh. Bring on the drink cart!

I am home again after my trip to NSW. 2 flights to get there, 3 flights to get home (had a stopover in Adelaide to break the journey) and a 5hr car trip to my sisters house one of the days I was there! I certainly put the coags to the test, LOL. But it has been quite calming to know I have the coagucheck monitor with me and can test my blood whenever I want to, so that my INR is always in range when travelling:)

    We all have 24 hours in a day.  How we spend these hours is important.  Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do.  Gonna have to work on that.Your turn.  Tell me another truth.
