Hi, how'should it goin? Di you mean physically fragile or emotionally fragile?

Physical fatigue and just feeling of soreness all over. Never felt this way before PE or taking coumadin.

I've seen some people say that warfarin caused them body aches. But if it were me, I think I'd want to rule out other causes before pinning it on warfarin or having had a PE. For instance, a couple of months after my PE, I started having aching in my shoulders, hips and legs. It almost felt like my bones hurt. I remember even my shins hurting. I also was feeling I guess kind of down and not clear headed. So I went to the doctor, and he ran some labs, including a vitamin D level test. The results showed my vitamin D levels were super low, and so he had me start a regiment of mega doses of vitamin D for three months, and then a daily maintenance dose. My levels have been in the low range of normal and it made me feel so much better.

Anyway, you may just want to check in with your doc and see what he thinks. It could very well be the warfarin but maybe not. So many things can cause fatigue and soreness, like anemia, thyroid problems, sleep issues, depression, etc, so it may be worth talking to your doctor.

Ditto on what @rmb said. I'd definitely check with your doc for other causes. This time of year, also, you could be fighting off the flu. I had it last year and "weak" and "fragile" are both totally accurate descriptions.

I've been on warfarin since 2010 and when I feel weird, it has almost always been something else going on... nothing to do with the meds at all.

Also, if it is warfarin causing this, then maybe switch to another med. I just recently switched from warfarin to xarelto (I was on warfain for 8 years or so), and so far I'm having no ill side effects or anything like that. I did start to get a very sore lower back for a week or two shortly after starting xarelto but I'm not sure if that was xarelto causing that or something else since it has since gone away.

Thank you so much for your replies. I am having a full blood work up next week so I hope it will show something. I have had six back surgeries over 20 years and at one point had a pacemaker hooked up to my spine but had it removed 2 years before my PE. I have taken many types of medication over the years and have had many side effects but I could say that since taking Coumadin it really has changed the way I feel all together. I spoke many times with my doctor about it he said most patients have no complaints taking Coumadin that I describe. Maybe having Factor V has something to do with it. I will definetly have him check about the vitamin D thank you rmb. I haven't posted for a while as it got further away from my PE. I have numerous health issues and it feels great to know that I have somewhere to turn for some support and advice.
