Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
Hang in there!
Today I went for another CT they said they have went down significantly.
However I run 6 times a week. They also found a lesion on my kidney they wanna do a MRI on. Again these PE were unprovoked.
I’m getting stronger day by day. I take elequis 2 times a day.
I’m a tad nervous it maybe serious. I see the oncologist / blood doctor 3/28. Anyone here have any underlining problems. Before diagnosed. ?
I think there have been quite a few runners and athletes here over the years on this board who developed clots, where there was no underlying condition as the cause. The hematologist you see maybe able to shed some light on that. Most hematologists are oncologists. I just mention that should the oncology part make you a little nervous.
Hope your spot on your kidney is nothing. That’s the part about having a ct scan that can be unnerving, finding something else to worry us. I had a spot on my spleen and an enlarged thyroid, both of which would have never been noticed if not for the ct scans I had for the PEs.. Both ended up being nothing serious but man it can mess with your head.
I’m running 15 min miles. Staying slow and steady. Realistically I’m blessed and all my energy is back. Just you can tell based on circumstances (PE) how winded I get. Again new.
I’m walking into the blood doctor now. Oncology scary word.
I'm quite surprised while you are healing from PEs that your doctor didn't tell you not to wear compression hose.
