dosing question?

Ok so this seems rediculous, and probably complete paranoia!

But i have been on the same dose of coumadin since I started taking it 5.5 months ago... I have never dipped to under 2.0 although last inr check I was 2.1 but they just told me to continue with the same dose, its been 3.1 after I first started taking it and they told me to take the same dose.... its never been higher then 3.1.

Ive been on 7.5 this whole time...it seems to have taken a dip since I switched to the real coumadin too... bc I was normally 2.3 - 2.6.

Has anyone been on the same dose for a while?

Does this mean theres something wrong with me??? Everyone seems to be having trouble with their inr...and i havnt had much.. I was wondering if this meant something..

Ive had my genetic tests done before I was on anticoag. treatment when I was admitted...and everything came back negitive...

But i guess the paranoia is getting to me...

The two situations probably dont have anything to do with eachother...

I was on 10 for about 3 months, and now I've been on 6 for the past three months. There's been some time of fluctuation that doesn't seem to have an obvious cause - no diet changes, nothing like that - but my dosing has more or less stayed constant and my INR fluctuations have been fairly mild. I don't really understand how my body needed 10mg before and now only needs 6mg for the same effect, but there's a lot about this medicine that I don't get!

After months of trying, once they found the right dosage for me, my INR has been stable, between 2.2-2.7. That's the whole point- to find the right dosage for you.

I'm not sure why you'd think anything would be wrong with you? The goal is a therapuetic INR, which you've seemed to obtain. That's a good thing. If your INR is stable and therapuetic, what does it matter what your dosage is?

I was having big trouble , but -cross your fingers - I've been on the same dose schedule for 3 whole weeks 7.5mg x5 days, and 10mg x 2days, INR 2.6-2.9!!! Yippeee. Just got my script refilled -different manufacturer -hope that doesn't screw things up. But -it probably isn't you -it just is what it is -hang in there. For the longest time I was on 3-5 mg, now I require 7.5 and 10mg doses to stay in range -so you never know.

Thanks guys! Im just so paranoid, I really dislike being on this medication, and i cant wait to get off... i guess it just me being paranoid that theres something wrong with my blood... ugh!

hey honey, it's fab your INR has been consistent for 5 months! i think its good that you have been on the same dose for a while! i was on the same dose for 4 months, and my INR had always been therepeutic, but now suddenly, im at 1.7 and have had to increase my dose...can't understand it really and wish it was still the same as it's not helping my paranoia, hehe! xx

    We all have 24 hours in a day.  How we spend these hours is important.  Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do.  Gonna have to work on that.Your turn.  Tell me another truth.
