By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

Cymbalta and Coumadin?

I'm looking for opinions about the use of Cymbalta/duloxetine along with Coumadin/warfarin. I'm sure that when rx'd Cymbalta the dose of Coumadin will need to be raised or lowered. Any personal stories about that?
I'll periodically (but not very often) bump this thread up so that newcomers will read it.

You've probably already done this, but have you checked with your pharmacist about the expected result? Many times they'll tell me that it will have an effect and I have to press them to get details on whether it is likely to raise or lower INR. (I think they tend to skip over that because its too much detail for many patients.)

I'll also note that it is possible to react differently than expected. I've definitely taken meds where everyone expected my INR to go up and it went down (or vice versa). Constant Vigilence! is about the only way to go...

Thanks, tnt----- I've been rx'd Cymbalta but don't know if I'll take it or not. It's supposed to help with fibromyalgia pain ---that all-inclusive term for any pain that is an MUS (Medically Unexplained Symptom!).

Yes, I have looked at rxlist etc and it will change my INR. Just wondered what personal stories might be told about it.

    We all have 24 hours in a day.  How we spend these hours is important.  Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do.  Gonna have to work on that.Your turn.  Tell me another truth.
