Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
Took a trip to the ER today after experiencing a lot of severe pain and anxiety. Since I've been off Coumadin for two weeks, I didn't want to take any chances. My PCP had previously suggested my ongoing pain was from costochondritis and now again today, the ER doctor said the same thing since my d-dimer came back negative and chest X-ray was clear.
Anyone have any coping mechanisms for dealing with the pain. I took ibuprofen (yay for being able to take it again), but it's not really cutting it today. I also have two little ones that want to be carried sometimes and it seems to really set it off. And wearing a bra really irritates it too

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
