By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
I was diagnosed with clots along with a diagnosis of endometrial cancer. I had to go on lovenox shots for 3 months before they could do the surgery for the cancer. I just got a call from the surgeon and the surgery "did the trick". I'm now cancer free. Hooray.
My question now is, should my blood go back to normal now that the cancer is gone? The surgeon couldn't really answer the question as it wasn't in his wheelhouse. I've googled it, to no avail. So if anyone out there had clots caused by a cancer, did your blood "thickness" return to normal once the cancer was gone?

I'm.not sure. Logically, it seems that the risk factor is removed so that should mean you now have an average risk for clots, but too,having had one clot increases your risk for another clot.
It's a good and valid question. Many cancer centers have hematologists working at them, and that might be the kind of person you need to talk to on this. I'm not sure either but I agree that if the cancer is gone, then the cancer-caused clots should also be a thing of the past.
