Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

I ave been to the er three times in the past week and i am very tired of going.
But this time its very different. my chest hurts and when i breath in it hurts. and i cant take a deep breath it hurts. I want to go to er but im wondering if this is normal after pe?
Has anyone experianced this? I was in the er about a day ago but it was because of a stomach virus. About three days Before that i was in the er for chest pain and hard to breath. They couldnt find anything wrong. Had follow up with my pcp and they said it seems to be some inflammition in my lungs gave me meds but the side effect and contrindications scared the crap out of me. The main one was that if you are on blood thinners you shouldnt be taking them.
But again i dont want to keep running to the er if this is normal but it hurts and im nervous. I called and left a message at doctor office but havent heard back yet. Any advice?
Thanks in advance. Love and rockets.

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
Please find a way to try to calm yourself a bit. I can hear it in your post, the amped up energy. I know it's very hard because it's all so scary. But being calm is the only way you're going to be able accurately assess your body and what you're feeling, whether something requires immediate attention and when it doesn't.
Hope you're ok.
Read through the posts here. You'll find the pain can linger far beyond what doctors think is "normal" or even acceptable. Hang in there. It's a very scary place to be after having a PE.
This is very hard to deal with because you dont know if the pain your feeling is there because something is wrong or if its just the healing process. So i was scared but i am one to not let things just sit and go on not checked even if i am tired of the er.
And its funny because the doctor at the er was the one who caught my pe and she remembered me when i went back some days ago. And i thanked her for catching it because the other doctors were sending me home and not running the right test because of my age they were saying i was young and healthy. But she caught it and i was thankful she did.
I hope you are feeling better and everthing is fine with you and thank you for your concern. I would love an update on how your doing and if they found anything or not.. Get well my friend.
