By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
did anyone else get. more chest pain after the PE? I am not at therapeutic levels yet. It's worrying me because it is on my left side and quite sharp pain. I did mention it ot the doc today but they did an ECG which was normal. They haven't done a scan of my heart yet so it's worrying me. Scared.

Yes, I actually had no chest pain leading up to the PE but after, I had a lot of chest pain and back pain. Plus I was very anxious after the PE so that made me feel short of breath and have a lot of chest pain too. Anxiety can make=s you feel sick.

Had no pain at all on diagnosis but developed pain about four weeks in that still comes and goes. Seems to be par for the course. Keep your doc informed, but I think it sounds like standard treatment to me.

I mostly had shortness of breath at diagnosis with just a little pain but about 2 weeks later the pain hit me like a wall and the first 2 months or so were a blur. Hang in there it does get better slowly but surely.
