This is exactly how I feel today, but it is migraine related as far as I know.

I too have the memory issues and my eyesight is not what it used to be since on warfarin. I don't know about the Hughes syndrome-not familiar with it.

I'm sorry to hear that 'brain fog' has invaded your life! I don't know the answer to your question about the Hughes syndrome etc.

"Brain fog" is common across many diseases or conditions and no one knows what exactly causes it but there are MANY theories. Sigh. But Lyme disease and it's co-infections brought it on in spades for me. And it went away completely when I had my years long remission.

I still have some brain-fog, although it is MUCH better now that I am on warfarin. For me, I think most of my brain-fog is anxiety related. If I've pushed too hard (physically or emotionally) my brain will just shut down for a while. Not fun at all. My eyesight is a little blurry from time to time, but with me it usually IS because my glasses are dirty! We also have tons of fires around here right now, so the smoke doesn't help and I haven't had an eye exam or new prescription in over 3 years. I know my vision is worse with my anxiety as well. I really would just like to feel like a normal person again... not sure that's ever going to happen!

Recovery from a trauma, thyroid disease, preimenopause, menopause, stress, anxiety, medications, etc. So yeah, lots of things can cause this. I had a lot of brain fog shortly after my PE and I think it was just stress and fatigue and my body working so hard trying to recover.

To be honest it's probably a result of being a bit worn out and run down. I've not been sleeping great the last few weeks, felt like I've got a cold working on me and I'm probably just over tired. Thanks for the replies though. Back to hospital in 2 days for more tests so I'm on the home straight now, I hope.

I'm one day behind you on those tests! Mine are thursday. This is just the first (and hopefully ONLY) round for me though. Hopefully all will come back ok and I can (maybe) start to worry less about dropping dead at any moment! Hope your tests go well and all your brain-fog is just stress and fatigue! How long did it take for you to get the results of your tests back?!? I imagine they won't all come in at the same time, esp. since I know the lab here will have to send some of them out to be done.

I've definately experienced brain fog but I'm currently still taking warfarin. I also just recently got prescription glasses. I'm not sure if these things are happening because of warfarin but it's interesting to see eveyone's comments here. *sighs*

heya jmac67 ive been off warfarin for 12 months now and synthrone for 6 months yep i have brain fog also it started when i stopped my meds a numb feeling around my eyes and my forehead dull pain in my head and very bad focus readjustment of my eyes ..if i was looking at apaper and my grandson shouted me if i looked up quick it took for ever to refocus same the other way round had all the tests even had a brain scan like all my symptoms lol im a medical mystery im all clear so try not to worry as im sure it will settle down .

Two words: B12 deficiency aka pernicious anemia. Theres a blood test for it.
