Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
I'm just going to go with the flow tomorrow and not worry about things. Will have a coulple of glasses of wine but make sure I drink a bucket load of water and nurse one glass over about an hour. To be fair ever since the embolism I've massive realised the importance of water intake. These days if ever I'm feeling sluggish or a bit under the weather the first thing I do is up the amount of water I'm drinking. I'm never anywhere without a bottle in my bag!
I'm not going to drink just for the sake of drinking.. I'm going to listen to my body and if after one glass I fancy another, then I'll have one.. and if after two I think I'll be o.k with 3 then I'm gonna go for it. One good thing is my partner hates social events so he will be glued to my side watching me like a hawk anyways... but I'm just going to see how I feel and not push myself. :)
I decided to go along the, 'see what I feel like and what my body is saying to me route', and ended up feeling absolutely fine..!!! I had my first glass and felt completely o.k.. had a second, then some champagne to toast.. All in all I had about 6 glasses of wine over 8 hours.
I was constantly drinking water, topping up my water glass more often than my wine glass, and I think eating with it helped as well. I had my first two glasses with the meal and the champagne after, but then kept nibbling on nuts and eventually cake.. making sure I had a nibble on something every hour.
I felt absolutely fine!! Just bordering on the 'tipsy' feel.. it was really nice to have a good night and after realising I felt o.k I honestly didn't worry about anything. It was a good night to let my hair down for a bit. I gulped a massive pint of water before going to bed, and woke up the next day slightly tired (but thats to be expected really after a day that started at 8.30am and finished at 1am..!) but otherwise completely fine!! :)
"I mean, I know it can whack your INR out.. but I've not got an INR test for another 3 weeks, so it should be back to normal by then."
Who do you think you are cheating when drinking, certainly not the Dr., hey it's your health...
