Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

Good Grief, here I am again back on the PT/INR roller coaster. I have been fighting off a nasty lung infection/pneumonia and have been on 3 different antibiotics and 2 inhalers for almost 2 months now. This coming at about the same time I learned that I have the lupus Anticoagulant antibody Which to me really isn't that big of a deal, except for the fact that I can and probably will clot if I get below 2.5 for any length of time. This is a fact I have lived with for awhile even before being diagnosed.
Ok so 3 days ago I was told to test my INR, because the Doctor had given me a steroid shot to help me fight this lung infection. Holy Crap it was over 7. So I call the doctor he says stop the Coumadin for 3 days and check my PT/INR again, and for Gods sake don't cut myself or get in any car wrecks. OK That's a reassuring comment especially since I drive over an hour to get to work and come home in the middle of the night and am always on the constant lookout for deer, boulders in the road, and moose crossing the highway. Fast forward 3 days and I check my INR this morning and HOLY CRAP it's 0.9 WHAT? I checked it again and again it's 0.9. Now I'm starting to get a little worried and trying to patiently wait for my Doctor to call back and tell me if he called in a script for Lovenox to cover me. OK Not having an Anxiety attack, Not having an anxiety attack!!!! HOLY CRAP Having an anxiety attack. I never had anxiety attacks before being diagnosed with this lupus Anticoagulant antibody thing why now? God how i hate mind games.
OK enough venting. I'm good, not really but if I say it enough I will be good.
Hugs

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
My INR has been all over the place since I was off warfarin for 10 days colonoscopy / polyp removal in June. Just can't keep it stable right now.
Hope you're doing ok, Ferr.
I'm just getting over a painful case of diverticulitis too and just don't need anything more - so sick of new dx every month it seems.
I'm sending you prayers for peace, strength and a quick trip to therapeutic numbers!!
Hugs and love, Cindy
Hang in there!
Slow, deep breaths!

You have the coolest picture. So sorry to hear about your ups and downs with your inr. The thing that caused me to write was your long drive to and from work. With the demands of being an ICU RN what do you do to keep yourself awake on those long rides home. Be safe and be careful.
You are a strong person who I have looked to many times for your sensible no nonsence advice, Im sorry that you are going through crap right now, my heart goes out to you...hang in there..you ARE good... Hopefully this will settle really quickly for you xx
ASPO, you ask how I keep awake making that drive home each and every night. LOL I watch for deer, Elk, falling Boulders and Moose in the road, I also debrief myself from the days events so when I get home I can get the events of the day out of my mind and actually sleep. LOL In the winter I'm much to busy worrying about keeping my car on the road in the snow, plus watching for boulders, deer, elk and moose.
Once again thank you all for helping me make it through the day and getting my head screwed back on straight.
Love to all and
Hugs

Sorry to hear your going through a tough period. Having a lung infection/pneumonia for a few months must have left you extremely low. The stress must have built up with all of this going on. I hope you sort out your inr and get the correct antibiotic for your infection.
Take it in your stride, I wish you well. xx
Ferr, glad you got the needle! Wait ... that didn't come out quite right ...
