Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
I know it's a shit to live with parents but with PEs you need someone close at hand to keep an eye on you. If you have a BF it might be a good idea to get him to sleep next to you for the next week or so just incase you need help.
Coughing I know... and you can't take steroids because they predispose you to clots more. Before I was diagnosed I coughed for months and months, it makes you so sore and your throat kills. GRR.
My target is also 2.5-3. Hang in there, its a hard target to maintain.
Keep us up dated xx
@EmboliGirl
Steroids can lead to clots? Hadn't heard that before. Do you have a study or article you can point me to?

Course, I don't know about the connection between steroids and clotting. That's a different topic, I guess.

Also, Google Scholar is an excellent source.
The wording of the query is often important. Let us know what you find, please? It will be great to have others do the research also.
Sorry we got your discussion off track, Lynne. Hope you're doing better today!
Still, thinking of you Lynne!
"I developed a pulled muscle from twisting in the wonder hospital bed"
I wonder if that was the same type of mattress I had while in the hospital with PE----- I think they're supposed to 'move' the body around to prevent bed sores but, man!, it sure made it hard for me to get out or in it!!!
Mine bulged and contracted on it's own and was definitely sorta weird. LOL
