By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

I coughed up a little bit of blood in my phlegm this morning ( tomorrow is three weeks since i went to the hospital for small clots in both lungs) Does anyone know what that actually means? It wasn't a large amount so I'm not overly concerned but wondering if I need to go to the doctor again. I originally went to the ER because i coughed up blood. I feel like things have slowly gotten better but i still have weird discomfort in my left shoulder/back/collarbone area - any thoughts..

I would call your doc and mention it. I know people have reported that happening, and it's not unusual but I think it's good to just let your doc know too.

    We all have 24 hours in a day.  How we spend these hours is important.  Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do.  Gonna have to work on that.Your turn.  Tell me another truth.
