Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

Great news! I have been allowed off Coumadin! It has been 9 months since my 5 PE's after abdominal surgery. I am excited and scared all at the same time. I still get out of breath easily upon exertion. But all of my tests came back normal! I have to say that this forum helped me out more than any info from my Doc....in the aspect of information and support. Thank you to everyone that takes the time to post!

Congratulations and without a doubt it can be scary as the Coumadin has almost been like a crutch. Time to get rid of the crutch and without a doubt take care and listen to your body. Just be aware of PE related symptoms and we will all hope that never happens again. I agree with you this forum helped me out when no one else could.

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
