Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
Check with your doc, but most of us got the ok to do at least light exercise right after our PEs. It may be noted in your hospital discharge papers that you can exercise, or if it says something like resume normal activities. I was walking, slowly because I had a DVT as well, once i got home from the hospital. Nothing crazy, just brief little walks, and then you just start slowly building up to more and more.
Exercise is important and I think it can can really help your physical and mental recovery. Laying around too much makes it that much harder to get back in the swing of things . You need to build back up some muscle, some stamina, some breath capacity. And yeah, it helps with just decompressing.

the Lazy Boy lounger for an hour or so....
My INR did take awhile to stablilize. but I did not want to stop
exercising
