By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

I have been amazed at the knowledge and willingness to help on this site. I kid not when I tell folks I learned more about my PE from this site vs the Dr and ICU nurses. The aspect I was not prepared for Going home was the mental and emotional ride. But I will take your encouragement and look to the sunny better days ahead......Life is good indeed!
