I would really like to go -- and have just checked out prices. I would be going with my mom, but I will be leaving out of Fl - so it will be kind of pricey and am trying to weigh the pros/cons.

To those of you who are going -- May I ask what you feel are the advantages of going to this confrence and what can be taken away from it vs. just asking a specialist and researching the topic from home? -- I am trying to learn as much as possible as a newly diagnoised individual who does not seem to have many doctors in this area who know anything about IH --- Laura

I recently decided to go because I too am recently diagnosed and am in the middle of fighting for appropriate treatment. It seems not much is known about this and I am reinventing the wheel so to speak as I travel. I never knew health care could be this hard. At any rate, I WANT to be informed. I WANT to feel better and I would like to one day move on and start living again not being in pain. So this is for me. For those who cannot attend, I hope to bring something back in a knapsack of hope...I'm looking forward to meeting some new friends as well....Nancy from Buffalo

I feel the SAME way! For a disease that has SOOO many people effected by it, I feel as though the doctors here in Fl, know nothing about it. I grew up very intereted in the health care field and went to school for 3 years to become a nurse, before switching to get my degree in social work .. so I am pretty educated on a lot of things in health care, and I too like to know as much as possible, so that I can ask questions and be actively involved in my care. ( we are the kind of patients doctors hate! lol!).
I am hoping this confrence will teach me some new things I didnt know .. and help me in batteling this disease.
