Good luck! I'm sure you will see positive results from your shunt. I'm almost 2 weeks post op on mine and it is the best thing I could have ever done! Let us know how you are when you can. :D

Yayyyyyyyy!!!!!! You know what it is actually normal to feel excited, I was too! When you feel like crap for so long and you just want your suffering to end, and someone tells you their is a highly plausible way of removing that pain.....wow, it's joy to your ears! I am so happy that you are excited! This is a big step and I will be sending many prayers your way, that the surgery go well and that your wake up pain free (the best part!) and that your recovery is as painless as possible.
Congrats my dear! I know how long you have been trying to figure out what the best discussion for you is and to fight for it! You are having a vp shunt placed, correct?
Let us know how you are doing and if you have any post op questions for us :) I had both an LP shunt and vp shunt, so either way I am happy to answer or help in any way I can.

And yes Mallory i am getting a vp shunt I think the part that has me nervous is of course the whole hair thing but I'm getting over it lol but the pain most of the girls I ask say the stomach pain is the worst and for some of them it lasted for almost month

Good luck! I was excited too before I got my LP shunt. Before the decision was made about which type, I was just excited period. Hair grows back and living a normal life is worth losing a little for a while.
I hope your surgery goes well and that you recover quickly.

I'm with everybody else - sending lots of good thoughts and prayers your way. I'm almost 1 month post-VP shunt surgery, and am definitely on the right path. I've needed one shunt adjustment, and I think I need another to get this right. But I'm definitely feeling better and am starting to get back to the old me - and that's an incredible feeling!!

I'm alive and this sucks even though I've been taking
pain meds all day it isn't really helping:( I will have a better update soon when I'm not hopped up on pain meds :)

Hang in there dear. The first few days are the worst.
