Not sure what pain meds you have, but if you have Percocet 5/325 or Vicodin 5/325, you can add an additional acetominophen with your dose. The acetominophen helps with the delivery of the narcotics to your brain and helps the analgesic effects last a little longer. (A pharmacist told me this when my hubby had a setback after valve replacement surgery.) Just be sure not to exceed 2000 mg (2 g) of acetominophen per day - it can have some bad effects on your liver.
