OxyContin & morphine killed my daughter.

It doesn't feel right to write a message board because my girl is gone. She died from accidental prescription medication. I almost lost myself. It has been almost 2 years. She left behind 3 beautiful children. I am just now getting some strength to try to research this and make sense if it. I CANNOT get closure until I get it figured out. Where could I have helped.
I know technically it was the opiates but my gut tells me I should have figured it out. I need to reach out to this forum because the grief is not getting less. How do I go on? What can I do? Please help me...

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

Sadly enough, this scenerio gets repeated every 17 minutes in the USA alone. Over 50,000 people every year will dy from a drug overdose and I am willing to bet you that most or all of them, never had a clue that they might die from what they were doing to themselves.
Please don't blame yourself for your daughters addiction! I am sure there was nothing you could have done that would have reversed the situation. It sounds like you may be holding onto some guilt and you need to let that go.
Alanon or naranon can help. You can google meetings in your area. There is also another group here that can help you. Please click on this link and repost this in that group and you will get more responses.
