I have multiple autoimmune diseases, Lupus (SLE), MS, Sjogrens, and Ocular Myasthenia Gravis. I also have stage 4 endometriosis. I am having an abdominal hysterectomy, including both ovaries and cervix in 2 weeks, on Jan 13th. After a few years of refusing any narcotics for pain, I finally realized that my quality of life was nothing, and I needed help to get through the day, I have 2 beautiful boys who need me, and need me to be able to get off the couch, or the bathtub, and function. I not take 40mg of sustained release oxycontin 2x a day. It does help alot with my pain, and I do not get any feeling of loopy, or high or anything. I am so nervous about being addicted , I never did any drugs as a teenager or anything, and it really bothers me that I now take this every morning and evening. I have noticed that in the evening I always have the chills and feel flu like, but this could be my Lupus, which does cause this, but I am worried that I am addicted, and its my body showing withdrawal signs until I take my evening dose. Please offer some advice, do you think I am addicted to this med now? If I am, how will I ever get off of it, or maybe I will never, because of my chronic pain. I still have breakthrough pain, more the more I do throughout the day, and I am very active and work out regulary. I take oxycodone for that. 5-10 mg 1 or 2 times daily. Please share your thoughts, I would really appreciate it.
thank you very much,

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

You don't abuse your medication by taking it by the handful like I use to do. When the time comes for you to go off your pain meds, your doctor will wean you off very gradually and you should be ok.
God Bless and TC!
I hope things continue to go well for you. take care and have a happy new year!
And if you are very concerned and want to get off of this medicine, your doctor will safely wean you off without going thru any withdrawals. You'll be fine. Just keep taking them how you're supposed to...thats the key!
Good luck, God Bless, and Happy New Year!
5 mg of percoset is almost nothing in the realm of pain killers. Should your doctor increase your dose, do not worry about getting addicted. When I look at the whole picture, addiction should not even be on your mind!
You sound like a good person who wants to do the right thing and rest assured Mary, you already are!
God Bless and TC!
