I have been taking prescription pain killers for almost a year. My pain has been less intense over the past couple of weeks so I have been taking a lot fewer pills, although I would take at least one a day. Yesterday I did not take any and about 3 PM I my whole body started hurting, I was nauseous and had severe stomach cramps as well as a fever of 102. It felt like the flu only much more painful. I woke up this morning feeling terrific and have stayed the same all day. I thought withdrawal symptoms lasted a lot longer than half a day. Is it over or does it come on go?

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

The problem with us addicts is we cannot stick to a weaning schedule and we have to get professional help.
Thats what withdrawals are like. The worst case of the flu you ever had. If you begin to experience feelings of loss and isolation with severe depression, then you need to tell your doctor so he/she can put you on an antidepressant..
Good Luck and keep us posted!
Drinking lots of water really helps to detox quickly. But from my experience, often the body will react similarly to severe pain, as a "withdrawal" like symptom. "sweats, pain, cramping". Thats why its critical to take it as a preventive , rather then when you are in pain..
I get the kicks, diarreha, cramping, no sleep for about 2 weeks, intense craving, nothing can touch me (ex. taking a shower was hell) just wanted to die. restlessness was awful too. I detoxed in a detox once and it wasnt that bad there, but i went home to an active user and relapsed because the anxiety was terrible.
I was on methadone, but abused that too.
Now its nothing, and i feel wonderful. I still get restless leg at night, so im still having sleep problems. some say it takes up to 2 years for the body to reboot itself.
Congrats on cutting down
