Drugs are the Worste Thing I've Ever Done to Mysel

Hiya

I wake up everyday and regret consuming toxins, both pharma and illicit, everyday. i have been sober for over a year now, but 99% sober for years before that. Still, everyday I always have the same thought in my mind. It seems that the trauma and brain damage caused by toxic chemicals, like drugs, can last a lifetime.
99% sober isn't enough if you use unnatural man made drugs. Even pharmaceuticals that aren't made to cause intoxication destroy brains and lives.

Yes they do but unfortunately there are many people that have no choice. I am on day 5 without any Norco. I refuse to take them as they caused me severe depression. I would rather have the pain. Hugs GB

Congratulations on a years' sobriety! Not an easy thing to do and you beat the odds for sure!

Many times we don't get a choice as it's almost impossible to be 100% drug free throughout ones life. I would hate to think I had to go through a surgery without something to make me feel comfortable when I awoke and I would hate to be awake while being cut.

Without the blood pressure pills I take and the colestoral meds I need daily, I might not be here today writing this!

I guess you could say, I choose the lessor of 2 evils.

I agree somewhat, but I think you need to ease up when it comes to medication you may need because of the damage that you have done. Lots of times we may need antidepressants, or other medications in order to stay alright. I used to think even that was wrong, but I've changed my views now. when I got sober I needed medication because I just had so much depression about the past that I couldn't get one day. This time around I feel alright, and I don't feel guilty about it. Some people prefere to smoke pot instead of drinking. I used to think that was wrong, but if it is a much less destructive thing, and it helps you to get over what's causing you damage then try it, if that's what you want. If it works for you, then try it. Wish you a great day. James

I will say this about opiates and other drugs. There is a time and place, such as going through surgery as bob pointed out. But once you know you don't need a medication after an accident, surgery, etc.. Get off right away. They are not worth what they take away from your life. Please believe me! Hugs GB

    So mad at Xfinity!  They're trying to charge me $115 per month for the same service I had been paying $50 the last four years. I took the equipment to UPS for shipping and cancelled my subscription today!  Next door was a cookie shop called Crumbl. I had heard of it before but never went in until today. I don't need one more sugar fix, but maybe it will help with my sad) grieving heart....$15...

    check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....
