Hi all, I am doing good! I am 5 days off of percocet and 4 days on the suboxone. Although I am doing well, it has been a little hard figuring out my right dose. They started me on 3 eight mg pills a day, for two days I honestoy felt impaired, I dont think I should have drove or been working on that dose. Although it did stop all cravings and w/d, it was to high a dose for me. So I kind of tried lesser amounts at doffernt times wit my Dr.'s permission. For ME, taking a half an eight mg in the daytime and a whole 8 mg at night is what is working out better. the only side effects I have had is some dizzyness on and off and feeling very tired. These pills make me tired but the Dr. said in time that would subside. So, 12 mg a day is working great. I have had absolutely NO cravings at all for percocet or anything else. An extra bonus is it has helped me with my tailbone pain a greta deal too. 5 days with no percs is the longest amount of days in a row for me and it does feel very good to be able to be off them. right now along with my counseling and dealing with issues that lead to my addiction at age 42, I am trying to find new daily patterns to get into because I never want to go back tohow I was living. When I got home from the Dr. the first day of suboxone, I went through my cell phone and removed EVERY single person connected to the drug, thats right, I deleted them ALL. This was a huge step but this is how much faith I have in my determination and how well the subs are working for me.
My adice to anyone starting on subs is PLEASE adjust the dose LOWER if you are feeling impaired, if you can't think right or feel funny then the dose is WRONG and to high. It is amaing to be lowering a drug I am on, but it sure feels good because that makes me know for sure I am going about recovery the right way.
I do plan on attending some metings in the future but right now my main focus is in the counseling and has to be for me. I sure appreciate everyones support I have gotten on here especialy "Bob".
I am soooooo thankful to God and who ever came up with this med to free so many of us living in the prison of addiction and mainly because if the fear of stopping whatever we are on.
You may all think this is very soon for me to say this but some day, probly a few years from now, I am and will be helping others with addiction, wether it is an online group etc .... I will not have gone through this horrible two years for nothing, something good is going to come out of this in some way. I do see what many have said about the potential for abuse with subs and if I would have stayed on that high dose (twice as much as what I am taking now), that would have been abusing it. so please tell your dr. if you are feeling way to tired or cant think straight or feeling impaired in some way when you get on this drug because that means it just needs adjusted. I am NOT a DR. or any type of medical person, that is just commen sense and friendly advice. So remember, if you have tried and failed many times over to stop the use or pain killers and could not get through wwithdraw on your own, PLEASE don't give up, there IS help and different medications that can be used as a TOOL to help you get through it. I TRULY did not know that before and wish someone would have lead me to that knowledge. I got to where I felt there was no hope for me, nothing I could do but keep using, I felt STUCK. but now I know i wasn't stuck and neither are YOU if you are really wanting a new way of life. Good luck to everyone and thank you again :0) Rose

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

I discussed it with my doctor and he cut my dose in half explaining that too much suboxone has the opposite affect and will make you feel like you are in withdrawals. After my dose was lowered, I felt fine.
After 6 months on suboxone, and 3 months of counseling and many many 12 step meetings, I was weaned from the suboxone.
If I didn't continue to attend meetings, I would surly relapse. In fact, about 80 % will in the first 6 months. Not trying to discourage you but you can't let your guard down for a second or else that little addiction devil will pay you a visit at your most vulnerable moment!
Good luck in your recovery and God Bless!
