Why is it so hard to find a Dr that will not only listen to you but put you on actual meds that work. I was hospitalized for my PTSD and anxiety and got put on meds that work but i go to the dr on the outside and they put me on something im ALLERGIC to. I haven't slept in days and all I see is flashbacks. I dont know what to do and at witts end.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
Soon after my original PTSD diagnosis I was given a medication in good faith by my psychiatrist that had a bad side effect. After taking it, I went for a walk with my wife, but halfway through our stroll around the block I became paralyzed all the way down my left side. She had to leave me on the sidewalk, go home, come back for me with our car, and take me to the ER. I was in the hospital for a couple of days until it passed.
I sure hope your allergic reaction passes soon, too, and that you can get some rest from those flashbacks. Much support to you.

Near as I can tell, Doctors are as limited as the rest of humanity on the listening biz. Finding ANYBODY who understands is an on-going challenge. I surely don't understand ^it^ well enough to explain ^it^ and the missed guesses all too often to add new trauma to the old trauma. My own attempts at med therapy were enough to qualify as traumatic. Those missed med guesses can be especially dramatic in their speed of reprisal.
Be patient with the process, Britt. Gentle support while you find your healing path. Welcome aboard.
