Hey guys and gals,
Sorry it has been hell since Thanksgiving day. First my friends girlfriend of six years left him. No warning. Then today my wife and I were visited by a fraud investigator. Turns out we were misinformed by a case worker and that led them to investigate us for fraud for not listing our two daughters benefits that they are receiving from my wife's disability. We were told not to include it in our income which now we are told was supposed to be listed. Now my wife could face jail time and we would have to pay back money. This all is a big mistake. We were ignorant of these things now because we listened to the wrong person, and because we have had so many different ones over the year are not sure which one it was. Sorry if I am running on and vague but it seems that crap can't help but follow me. I am struggling not to lose it. Anyone know a good lawyer since we are clue less. For gods sake we never even have had a jay walking ticket let alone been accused of a felony. Help any ideas?

No, the IRS got up on its high horse. Letters with threats if not responded to within 15 days, letters signed by high up bosses in the bureaucracy with intimidating letterheads.
I just answered the bleeping questions, no matter how much intimidation they used. Guess what? In the end the new state paid me a rebate check for $150. Ha!
They could have kept their $150 bucks, but they had to scratch that itch to threaten someone instead. Stupid bureaucracy. I pray this works out to your benefit like it did for me. They can truly come on strong with their threats. I guess they're just doing their jobs, but it also seems like there's a tad of inky sadism there, too.
