What Does a "Stranger" Look Like

When my kids were little and a picture of someone that had hurt a child showed up in the newspaper, I used to show the smiling picture to my kids to show them what a "stranger" looked like.



Sometimes I hate this world.

I don't hate the word, but the propaganda campaign is downright idiotic. So far as I know my own childhood remains the statistical majority: I was being hurt by family and family friends. The kindness of strangers was my saving grace.

There are allot of good people in the world I have yet to meet. I pray it doesn't become an insult to call them, "Strangers." For now, at least. . .

Mine were family, first. Then an army officer in my neighborhood. Lastly a stranger when I was a 9 year old kid who looked me right in the eye before he threw the Molotov cocktail anyway.

Family, authorities, strangers.

Plenty of bad people about, even the ok ones like to hurt others.

I don't know why we don't allow people to gravitate towards those who they get along with at a younger age

I was ignored my whole life until I broke free as an adult, strangers have shown me more kindness than family

IN a long life, "Stranger" has only been a "danger" once. Everyone else was someone I at least knew the name of, etc.

It's tough, but... in a way I think Stranger Danger conned some kid sinto staying with family who hurt them, b/c they were trained to think *strangers* were scarier. Nope. Not always.

Until they prove otherwise and even then pray for independence as long as possible

How on earth did I ever find a boyfriend? So glad he turned out to be a good guy

    I did the dumbest thing today.  I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds.  I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym.  What a dummy!
