Thought I would try describing one of my therapy visualizations. I pretty much think in pictures, so visualization is more natural than speech for me. Since I was near adolescence before I overcame my speech defect enough to talk on a regular basis, I sometimes think of words as my second language. Sensory input is my first language and translating that into words is far more challenging than translating one word language to another word language. My speech defect still plays in often enough that sensory inputs are still vital to my communication skills.
Here goes the attempt:
This morning finds me trying to visualize a weaving loom. I am weaving a tapestry. Each of the individuals in the current four generations of family dramas has a thread of their own. Even the toddler, the semi-vegetative mother and others who cannot speak for themselves. The thread spools are not well-regulated. Each spool spurts out its bit of thread at the speed of its own, individual life, twining its own thread as the fibers of information become available for the twining. I leave each thread gently looped on a hook or pin on the loom until a slack in the thread tells me the spool has sent a new issue of thread.
How am I doing? Does it make sense? Feedback welcome.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
I think you are doing a great job!
Most of the time, the animals' strings are just there, comforting, but sometimes, like when the person who watches my horses falls down on the job and I have to go out in the freezing rain every three days to water my horses, their strings get a lot more active. Merc, the ferret who has come to his time to be peacefully helped along to the other side, he currently has a very active thread as until I have the money to do so, I must check on him constantly.
Then there are the wild kittens. I have been told that in order to catch them I need to get them on a once a day feeding schedule. If I can't tame them in the next month, I am going to invest in some cat traps and trap them. I can send them to the clinic to get fixed, but instead of immediately turning them loose, I am going to take the time to tame them so I can catch them again when we go to move.
LOL, and my house has its own thread. The cars, each with their own issues on functioning, have threads too... wow this is a busy tapestry!!!
The goal of my tapestry weaving meditation is to gently remind myself to be patient with the process. Don't yank or tangle the individual threads. Let it weave at the speed of life.
So far, so good, I think. Had a wonderful day trip with hubs today. Looking at chicken coops instead of over-stirring the family stew.
Onward through the fog.
