Some of you have noted that there have been at least one school shooting recently... I don't know if there was more than one as we are concentrating on the one that happened about 20 miles away.
I am not going to give all the details, but it happened in the cafeteria... It was a case of premeditated murder that 'happened' to be done at the school.
My daughter walked away from her job yesterday and I would like to smack her boss - who is lucky my daughter did not smack her.
Also working at the same place is a teen girl who was IN that cafeteria and lived through the shooting. She came to school in shock. My daughter said she had all the classic symptoms of shock and dissociation. She had been excused from school for a week by her counselor as she was too afraid to be on school grounds.
So what does her boss do? chews her out in front of customers for being ten minutes late to a min wage job. Then proceeds to tell her that as she was not shot she is just fine and needs to 'just get over herself".
My daughter, understanding these things from having grown up with me, sat her down and talked to her for 20 minutes. Explained that she would be best getting a peer counseling group at school going so she could talk about things she might not want to talk to her counselor about. Most importantly, got the girl focused on the present and gaining a bit of color back in her face.
My daughter was so angry at the boss, she never went back to work after her lunch break.
Hate people sometimes.

I suspect the boss would have gotten our attention... Maybe even an escort to the counselor's office.
These media events have serious impact on our schools, from the head honchos to the mousiest mouse.
That boss should be reported to whomever is above them. Seriously. They shouldn't just let that go.
I don't know if they will accept it or not, but if they do, I will get my daughter to drive us.
Do it, yadim. Our schools need all the support they can get.
My offer, which I sent to the principal, has been forwarded to the counselor coordinator. Misha will love if they accept our offer. She adores to just love on anyone and everyone.
I think you idea of taking you dog in for you both to love and support the kids is an excellent idea. I really hope the school lets you do it. Hugs to you
