Why? Because since I came to Mexico June 2nd I haven't used my cane to walk once--not once! After using it for 8 years. I still am a slow walker, people pass me on the sidewalk all the time because my speed is a crawl compared to their gait. Still, they don't know what I know: just walking without a cane is a miracle for me.
Walk on, amigo!
I walked 2 miles today. I feel like my life is trying to "bank happiness" so I don't get too depressed after my mom dies.
Fortunately, I had scraped knees but no sprain and no broken bone. It was a pretty spectacular fall, though, that brought pedestrians from all around to see if I was ok, and to help me up.
It was pretty embarrassing to be that old guy everybody was staring at, but I was grateful for the help. I was shaken up, but I did finish my walk. I'm out and about now without my cane again, trying to watch where I walk more carefully today.
I hiked about 2 miles yesterday and walked 2.1 miles home today.
Tomorrow I'm off to the airport for a break from Mexico, so it'll be airport walking for me.
