The transition back to Austin seems to be going well. I have my own room now. I sleep in an elevated bunk bed with my grandson's crib underneath. My beloved sleeps in the Master Bedroom at the other end of the hall. He is a sprawling clutter fellow that is rather hard for a compulsive organizer like myself to share space with. Eldest Son has the bedroom in between.
There have been some tensions as I have settled back in to the space the two men have shared on their own for the since July of 2013, but nothing insurmountable so far. Both have expressed appreciation for my drive to get it back up to standards I can live with and have even collaborated with the drive. Apparently neither of them were as happy with the dusty clutter as they thought they would be. I am not all that sure I want the housekeeping job back. I have approached it with the attitude of, "Hey, I know how to get a bus ticket..." I had a great week with my grandson last week, so I am glad I haven't bought that bus ticket yet. So far. We see how she grows...
One of the bee hives in the outyard was abandoned this week. It was the swarm we caught on the 4th of July in Washington on the Brazos. I suspect they swarmed off again because there were not a substantial number of bee corpses around the hive. Another mystery of life. The other five hives look healthy, as do the three hives in the back yard.
Just an update.

I don't really know how to label this but I having a rough week and I can't say it's one thing.... I have a lot on my plate which is nothing new and I try to cope in many positive ways and do but I still have my moments. My kids more so my daughters talk to me about everything which I know it's cause of comfort and we are close.... however I really struggle with the venting about their dad which...

I once got so fed up with doing soooo much house and yard work on my own that I told my hubby, "I can write a check to someone else, or you can do this, but it's getting done, and not by me." Took me being bedridden to get there so you are definitely "ahead" of me on that one!
Glad you have a sanctuary space of your own. Mmmm, a room of one's own.
May the transition continue to go wel.
We had a swarm stop by for the night on our porch. THey decided to move on after a day. It was surreal, in a swallow-murmuration sort of way....
Yea, Austin still has a great cultural scene. It has also had a 300% growth rate in the time I have lived here. It is estimated that we have gained 150 cars a day for the past 3 decades. The Boom Town stresses are a bit tough to take. We have to relearn the city virtually every time we leave the driveway. I miss old hippie Austin... I am voting to sell at Boom Town prices and buy our retirement place at depressed economy prices. Lately I've been looking at Trawlers and river barges. http://www.greatloop.org/seasonal-great-loop-map-cms-1035
The barge would be an Arf Notion on how to do agricultural strength beekeeping. Still untested to my knowledge, but a river barge strikes me as a much gentler bee transport than 18-wheelers.
Mmmm, bees on a boat.... Think how happy they'd be, no pun Gentle motion, access to flowers along the way.... You could name it the BeeCharmer:-)

In my dreams, the barge is a floating ecosystem with its own herb garden.
