P.S. A common practice here in Texas is to schedule dental visits to coincide with Mexican vacations. I've never tried it myself, but I've been told the quality is equal and the price diff between U.S. and Mexican dentists typically pays for the vacation.

Irony abounds for those of us with PTSD, don't it, arfie? Yeah. It'll pasar rapidamente, it always does--in 3 days I'll be better than Lazarus himself. Yeah, there are a lot of dental tourists down here from Texas; I met one in the waiting room.

The distractions from the inheritance of 3 orphans has been a force to be reckoned with, and we still pay our bills and farm development expenses with internet security operations but the birds and bees operations are still evolving like they have lives and will of their own..

The pressure is on, though. Our eldest orphan (almost 8) calls me a farmer and expects me to act like a mentor for the farmer he wants to be when he grows up.

If you have to have many more extractions Muji what about seeing an oral surgeon?

You can have a general anesthetic and have all extractions done as once... I used to work in oral surgery many moons ago

Thanks, SC, I guess I didn't make it clear just calling him a dentist because this guy is an oral surgeon of the kind you're referring to, He was trained in Barcelona, Spain, and is the best in town. Way better than in my little Appalachian city in the States. I had 3 appointments on Monday as you describe; this procedure Tuesday was different because it was s root canal who crown had broken off and was hanging in there with glue for the whole pandemic year.

This oral surgeon here in Mexico has improved on work I had done in the US 4 times now. He offered me a general anesthetic but I didn't need it during the procedure itself; it was the aftermath that hurt so. This is the 5th implant over the last 3 years with him, and the inflammation has gone down nicely over night, so I'm thinking we're going to be fine by Monday when I go back and he puts the ceramic in place on the metal post fof this implant like he did with the other ceramics Monday.

Too much information? Yeah, I know. It's just that I had to wait out a whole pandemic year in the US to get this finished down here in Mexico.

Bottom line: thanks a bunch for the support here when that spot right under my nose got triggered like a punch in the mouth. That's over now. Methinks I'll be getting a good night's sleep tonight.

arfie, never having had kids myself, I can only imagine how your hands must have been full with the kids during these pandemic times. It's really sweet how the nearly 8 year old you mentioned looks up to you beyond being a grandmother to seeing you as his Future Farmers of America mentor.

I just now told a friend in a private message here that I finally had a good night's sleep last night, which made life well worth living again. Wow, Tuesday after the oral surgeon did that front tooth extraction had a lot of pain in it, even for me, and I'm pretty good at taking a punch in the kisser when I have to. Glad that's over.

In my 20's around 27/28 I had to get three of tooth out. A oral surgeon took them out. It took him almost four hours. I was screaming. In the end my dentist came in. She stated sorry I scary you for life. She said you had an infection and the oral surgeon should have stopped but didn't. I never want back to the dentist. I have Strong teeth so I brush and I am good

Sorry Muji, this triggered me a little. But I feel your pain. I too am recovering from extraction and bone graft. I had never had an adult tooth extracted before and never had wisdom teeth. Hope your recovery goes fast.
