I have to work today and my parents are going to be gone for two days. A friend invited me to go to karaoke and a friend and I may spend the weekend together. Here's the thing, my one friends son is into marijuana and that scares me, because I dont want to be around drugs because I'm afraid I dont have the power to say no, or that I may get into drugs like the rest of my family has, I am having really severe anxiety about this but at the same time I dont want to be home alone because of my ocd and ptsd. The other friend that invited me to go to karaoke, I know him but I dont know if i trust him or that he has my best interest. I'm afraid to be home alone because of the thoughts of harm ocd and my ptsd but at the same time I dont know what to do about either staying with my friend or going out with my guy friend to karaoke. what should I do? I was up in washington state visiting friends, and my friend melissa was really into meth and heroin, she has since recovered and gone through treatment but I was scared that she was going to push drugs on me and or that I would not be able to say no due to her pressure sometimes. does anyone have any ideas? I work today from 12 to 8pm . i just dont know what to do. i couldnt go with my parents because they wanted some time to their selves this weekend.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
If the one friend's son is into marijuana, can you simply ask that it be kept away from you, given "family issues", and leave it at that? And if it's gonna be that anxiety-inducing, maybe time home alone would be less stressful?
Wish I could help more. Soft support and we're here all weekend no matter what.
Maybe. . .
Or I might justify another weekend of my habitual isolation.
Sigh. . .
Gentle support, whichever way you decide to take it, Hap.
A simple thought came to me, though, that may be too simple, but I'll pass it along anyway. I'm a former cigarette smoker, and so cigarette smoke really bothers me now more than most people. It makes me feel sick to smell what I used to smoke. I just can't be around it. No judgment on whoever's smoking because it's what I used to do, too. It's just that I can't be in the same room with it.
So could you lay claim to the same? That it's fine if he wants to smoke it, but that you just physically can't be around it? That way it might be easier for you since you wouldn't have a drug talk, just a no smoke talk.
