I had a melt down yesterday and today. I have been under a lot of stress lately and yesterday I went to pick up my new contacts and was told that my insurance wasn't kicking in the 60 dollars ( I know...1st world problem) plus they were only paying for half of my eye exam. So now I owe 150 dollars. 150 dollars that I don't have...and no contacts. The insurance company had said both were covered but ..oops...it was a mistake. So I muttered a curse and walked out of the office.
Today I had a work appointment at one of the hospitals. All the hospitals have parking garages here and I found a spot way up on the roof and parked carefully , making sure I wasn't too close to the lines. Doesn't some jerk park so close I can barely open my door to get in my car. This happens all the time. I have had to get in the passenger side and climb over the center console more times than I can count. Yes I am kinda big but these vehicles were so close that any small adult wouldn't have been able to get in.
You can guess what happened. I had my satchel that I use to carry my clients files and it has a big metal buckle. Oh...whoops...I scraped up against the van. Then when I got in I opened my door into the side of it.
I'm not proud of what I did. I know I lost control.
I'm just a flipping mess these days. I am frustrated, angry, feel unheard at work. Confused. I am just wound the hell up. Very angry. I haven't felt this much anger in weeks. Hateful anger.

Hello- I am new to the group

Jay's podcasts are really good. I watch them on YouTube for free. Today, I watched his video about motivation. In fact, I've been watching a few videos on this subject. Jay gave us an assignment to complete the following sentence: I am stuck because? I don't describe myself as stuck, but to finish the sentence, I would say that I am stuck because I am tired. When I have energy, I do...
Working out a lot tends to blow the tension off for me though, so I'd try that.
" if you f *** like you park you'll never get it in."
Whatever works best for you, keep venting, Cecil. Anger is the most toxic emotion in my personal repertoire. Holding it in is downright dangerous.
Cecil, I was just on a business trip in DC last week. Downtown DC has NO parking, even expensive parking garages were jammed. It took forever to find a parking garage with a space during the day during business hours. My car's a subcompact, yet it was squeezed in like a sardine can.
When I got back after my business appointment, I was hot from wearing a suit and tie in the 90 degree heat and mugginess of the swampy Potomac in July. And sure enough, a van had parked just like you say, and I had to climb over my console. I'm a big guy, too. It was painful.
I could sure have used one of h's cards for that van's windshield.
Sorry for your melt down, but I literally melted in the heat last week and know how you feel.
" if you f *** like you park you'll never get it in."
Ha!
If you're able to channel it in positive ways it can be a real asset.
When I get really beside myself, I go out in front of my house and run up and down the parking lot about 10 times.
We should start up a FB page where people can post pics of crappy parking jobs- complete with shots of the license plate number. They should be ticket-worthy.
