Hey everybody,
I just wanted to say thank you all for the prayer, support, and well wishes.
I physically survived my procedure yesterday and did not flat-line on the table this time, so I think I've gotten about as much as I can ask for out of yesterday!
I am not out of the woods though. My heart and lungs are damaged; once I heal from yesterday's surgery I am going to be going through treatment for my lungs (which, unfortunately, will require more of the same medication that has been injuring my heart in the first place). Once my lungs are under control however my doctor can begin to repair my heart.
It's a long war, and I've only won the first battle, but I feel successful and happy with my physical health (as much as I can). I appreciate your prayers and support this week; I was so anxious to be put under that when I woke up post-surgery I cried out of relief. I am pretty sure I scared the nurses half to death; I think they thought I was dying, lol.
I appreciate everybody in this forum; I feel like you all get me. I explain my fears and concerns to some people on the outside and just get blank stares like "well, why would you worry about that?" To someone who has never been through "it" (whatever "it" is), some (logical) fears are just impossible to explain.
Thank you for everything,
Alice

Hello- I am new to the group

Jay's podcasts are really good. I watch them on YouTube for free. Today, I watched his video about motivation. In fact, I've been watching a few videos on this subject. Jay gave us an assignment to complete the following sentence: I am stuck because? I don't describe myself as stuck, but to finish the sentence, I would say that I am stuck because I am tired. When I have energy, I do...
More prayers for uncomplicated healing:-)
In recent years I have taken to visualizing drawn out ordeals as a, "To Do List." It feels far less intimidating to me than the "War" analogies. I still celebrate "Check Days," though. Checking an item off the "To Do List" is worthy of a ticker tape parade in my mind.
But that is me. . .
May your healing continue, Alice. Prayers and support on-going.
