I am so confused, I don't know where to turn. I've been living in the house where my ex-boyfriend abused me for 7 years. Not going into details. I have been alone there for a few years and every night is a horror. I don't pay for the apartment, my family does. My current boyfriend, whom I met 8 months ago, has an apartment he said he'd like me to move into, but not until May when my current lease is finally up (I kept renewing before until I realized I have ptsd and was formally diagnosed!). I don't want to wait until May. But he says he's never lived with a girl before and needs some time to prepare. He also read literature advising against moving in with sig other until after a year. I don't want to put him in the position of save me from my PTSD. He thought i should find yet ANOTHER place for a year. Why does this upset me , when I know he is just setting boundries, something he's working on in his own therapy? How do i not push him away but last for the next 7 months?

When i was in the ER February 16th 2025, i was being admitted to ICU where i was for 3 weeks, then had to relearn to walk for 3 weeks in another hospital rehab floor, the nurse told me something that made me feel for over 18 months now that i was finally *safe*. She told me that the guy who raped and beat me 21 years ago now almost 20 years at that time, was in prison as of a month before that...

Sometimes, I think I have ODD. I can be oppositional. It seems that the only times that I feel like cleaning are when I should be doing something else or I have to go somewhere. Well, not everytime but most of the time. Yesterday, I was supposed to be doing online training for work but instead, I decided to work on my kitchen table. Most of the time, I don't know where to start and give...

That is allot to sort. The fact that you are upset about it makes me think you are paying attention. Easy does it. Moving, etc., are big, life-changing events. They tend to go better in small steps with the support of a strong network.
Welcome aboard. Hope you find this to be a good node in that network.
I have been using sage as well and recorating is a great idea. I know our situations are different. I have been having a hard time finally getting rid of boxes of my exes belongings he chose not to get. I live in the same apartment with my current s.o as I did my verbally abusive ex fiance. I have told my new s.o that I want to move. I agree it's a lot of changes. Take it step by step. You are not alone and have a lot of support here. Sending positive vibes. Many blessings!
