Equipped well by Scotty with warp drive....and of course the magic...

Then Lily found a boat and of was instilled with magic that can create that peaceful place that we are told to find to promote relaxation and just to breath. If you want for anything or special comforts , you need only blink blink and Calypso provides it.
We play relax and share what makes us feel better...together.
There is also a van for on the road excursions The Violet Vanguard, parking is never a problem! And it is there with just a blink at our disposal, shopping the Magnificent mile or just a shoreline shell collecting day trip...use it as you wish.

Was the Bryan Adams show KEWL or what?
I went alone and triggered (I wrote a separate thread about that here on DS PTSD) because it turns out it was a childhood trauma anniversary for me. I saw a guy get shot on Aug. 12th when I was 10 years old. He died.
Quite a downer. But I went to the show anyway, all by myself, and after about an hour of dissociating I got into it and had FUN.
The Bryan Adams show set list (some titles aren't exact):
1-I Need Somebody*
2-The Kids Wanna Rock*
3-Can't Stop (didn't know that one before)

5-Shine A Light (I think that's the name of the whole tour. Did someone else write this one? It was cool how it prompted the whole audience to wave their lit cell phones like we used to wave lighters, making an ocean of stars like happened at the U2 show I went to)

7-C'mon Everybody (didn't know that one before)
8-It's Only Love*
9-You Belong To Me (didn't know that one before)
10-Summer of 69*
11-Everything I Do* (from the movie Robin Hood)

I swore to the ladies sitting behind me that there'd be a full band encore of The Heat Of The Night, because it's a hit he hadn't sung yet, but I was wrong. It was over. He skipped singing that song entirely even though it's one of his big hits.
I marked with an asterix the songs I liked the most, which is a lot of them. I liked Summer of 69 best. Always have, because it's about getting his first guitar, and I got my first guitar that same year.
He had really great video to go with his singing, which is great because he stands still and sings and plays without a lot of fake posing nonsense. Summer of 69 had a video of the lyrics written by hand on a lovely person's body.
Some video was recorded, like one of his walking through a mall hugging folks and shaking hands, and some was live video work, but pixillated, turned black and white, given different treatments even as it was broadcasting him live.
So glad I went, and so glad I had fun after the first hour of dissociating, and that I have you to tell about it.
Bonds and Diane. They were never planning on having kids, both had incredibly well paying jobs, and they bought this HUGE house 90 miles outside of the city. Why? I have no idea. The house was so big that it had a mini kitchen in the bedroom. All white carpet. Both worked in different parts of the city, so it's not like they could ever carpool together.
Anyway...memories. I did so much driving back then, I swear that I can still remember some of the roads, although I can imagine that it's probably even more built up now. It's a small world. Sometimes it's strange to hear you talking about these places I used to know so well.

Seeing Bryan Adams last night I realized I got a lot out of his song Heat Of The Night about my PTSD nightmares:
"I was caught in the crossfire of a silent scream
Where one man's nightmare is another man's dream
Pull the covers up high and pray for the mornin' light
Cause you're livin' alone in the heat of the night"
The song's existence, though, means I'm not alone. And that it was the big hit song off one of Adams' albums means I'm not only not alone because he gets it. Millions of his song's listeners did, too. And some of them with PTSD.
Definitely makes me feel less alone when I take my Prazosin meds for my PTSD nightmares.

I had a good Monday indeed. Friday's unwanted contact from my estranged abusive relative did trigger me, but not for long because I posted it here and got so many replies of support from here it didn't get a chance to ruin my weekend. I went out for dinner Saturday night with a friend, told him how much support I'd gotten here for it, and went on to another concert on Sunday. Mark Knopfler, formerly of Dire Straits.
I'm learning to trust reaching out for support here when triggered, the using that support to make myself stable enough to go on with my plans. I used to let a trigger like that take me over for days, but this time it was just hours, and still enjoyed the show. There's a balance somehow between denial and pretending stuff doesn't bother you vs. engaging with a problem but seeing nothing else. I'm learning.
