Congrats and hugs
Believe me,no congrats are deserved.
i have four of these sheets to fill out,and can only come up with a tangible goal for one of them.
i was just posting these in the hope that they might help someone else.
Strictly personal:
I believe it would have been easier to take all 5 steps of this exercise in a single sitting. If my damaged memory is serving me well this morning, we started the exercise on Sunday and my goal was to get the extraction room in the honey barn ready for the Christmas display Hubby wanted for his birthday. His birthday was Monday. Goal accomplished.
When it comes to goal setting and progress, over-thinking is one of my baddest psycho bad girls. I routinely think my way into a state of paralysis. One of the benefits I gain from this exercise is breaking the goal down into simple, bite-sized chunks that help me manage the over-thinking.
Today's goal:
Make the Light Fort in the corner of the extraction room a comfy place to chill and play with the net lights, etc., which make up the walls and ceiling of the fort. Need more pillows.
When is the completion of this goal due?
This one is a work of art. Works of art are never finished. They are only abandoned. It'll be finished when we get tired of playing with it and put it away.
When am I going to work on this goal?
Right after I finish my daily inventory.
Thanks again for posting this exercise, Silver. Good stuff.
sorry 'bout that.
I added the FWIW as information only. There is no "Right" or "Wrong" to these exercises. Even the questions I can't answer are still worthy of contemplation. It helps calm my over-thinking demon to remember that not all questions need answers for the show to go on.
Thank you again for the wonderful thread series. Silver. Encore, encore. Hope the exercise helps you as much as it has helped me.
If you are a DBT"er, (Me too, I live by DBT), the challenge for me when trying to complete something is to remove myself from emotional mind, my brick wall. Move my brain more towards dr. spock, rational mind...now dr. spock doesn't ''think'' talk his way out of doing 'what he wants'.
Then my gift Wise Mind is at peace cause I'm done with what I wanted to do.
Thank You for your encouragement,Simpsons...

Sometimes that's how it goes. When I finally coughed it up, I had to be patient with myself. I didn't have the support I needed until then to talk about something that had rocked my world so hard yet that nobody had cared about for so long.
