Being past that last round of flashbacks does not do away with the unpleasantries in the here and now. Sigh. As my adopted grandmother used to say, "If it ain't one thing, it's three." I still miss my Rubye. . . She was born in 1900 and died in 1992 -a very hard year for me. I met her in 1980. An earthier spirit never walked the planet.
Normally, I would be waking up from my nap right about now. Every time I have laid down and closed my eyes, my mind has filled with an image of the DIL sitting atop a mountain marked, "Perfection" surrounded by computer monitors with digital voices cheering her on as she tosses The Monster-in-Law (me) off the side of the mountain into the Toxic People dump beneath her. Perhaps the saddest part is that her landfill beneath her is nearly filled up to her peak of perfection. It writhes like a horror movie image of Hell. Each time, I have opened my eyes while still in mid-flight.
Nothing new on the real world DIL front. . . To the best of my knowledge, I am still the monster-in-law. No surprise there. Just hoping to purge the image. I seem to have noticed that such images upon closing my eyes precede into nightmares. A stitch in time saves nine?
Thanks for letting me attempt the purging here. Now, to see if it worked. Hoping to get my nap now? Maybe. A nap this late in the day tends to interfere with my night's sleep. Maybe some guitar and/or charango. Been getting allot of licks in on the charango on this trip.

This is me with my visualized mop and pail. It helps to whistle while I work.
"Lord, you don't have to move no mountains
"Just give me the strength to climb

Slept just okay last night, but I ran out of my illegal medication, the evil mary jane and I am in unconnected territory. Not the first time. I am confident I will survive this time, too. Might be time to let it go, anyway. We see.
About sleep my insomnia lately is red zone....ugh.....even with a med....
When I and sleep do not get along, I will play endless rounds of a mindless iPad game until I conk out against my own knowing, nose first into the iPad. It is not MJ, but it works for me, and is so far legal.
Achieving a measure of serenity is what helps me sleep. Gots me a big, ol' metaphorical box full of tools to help with that.
A funny quirk of having worked in computers since a computer with no hard drive or RAM was still a multi-million dollar piece of equipment is that I still can't treat anything digital like a toy or a sedative. Base conditioning. . .
Lucky for me there are still lots and lots tools that don't require apps. . . So far. . . Tech is still booming.
