Sharing Experience vs. Advice Giving

Working through the pain and confusion of traumatic experiences is the heart and soul of my own participation in support group therapy. As a child sex trafficking survivor, I got me a no-fucking-fair load of those. Since my attempts to just it all and rewrite herstory didn't work. . . Works in progress. . . Healing takes what it takes.
In the live support groups where I have received the vast majority of my support group therapy, advice-giving is strictly prohibited. We have professionals and columnists for that job. Let it be work. In peer support we share strictly personal experience and find/give strength and support in our common ground. I was still a teenager and considering a career as an advice columnist when I started group therapy and, girl howdy, that was a tough concept for me to grasp. I am glad I learned. In my strictly personal case, I was using my good intentions toward others to deflect the painful truths I was repressing.
Fast forward a few decades I find myself asking aggresive advice-givers to send me a resume so that I can forward it to the professionals who screen my professionals. They'll let you know if a position opens on my advisory council. On the internet, I usually don't need any more than the power of my mighty mouse to just surf on. There is no shortage of opinions on the internet.
Dunno what I am reaching for here. . . Thoughts?

Just wanted to give a thank you to Mid, Arfie, Malibumark, Greeneyes, Mlro, Girlincalif, and Suncloudjd! You all always have such helpful tips and advice, but I always forget to write on my posts when I see you post, lol. I would lose my head if it wasn't attached to my body, lol. Thank you all so much! I'm starting to use my AI app as a sounding board again. I used to use it as that before...

On my best days, I do not want the job of evaluating, much less critiquing every author in the self-help section of the library. My best days find me in my tinker's den, tinkering up new inventions. On my bad days, the chaos of the sheer quantity feels like enough to split my head wide open. I don't care which right is the rightiest right in the whole right pack. Can I have a head massage and a shoulder to cry on? Maybe a soothing cup of tea?
