Does anyone knows what is sensory disorder is? Can you provide a link please.
My therapist is driving me nuts. She said mywriting is my strong point and verbal is my weak point. SHe wants me to email her but never brings them up. Yet she said that she want me to start a conversation, speak up and make decision.
She does not say much and I reach the point that I no longer want to talk in session. My former therapist always meet me in the middle and start the converstaion or let me write a letter and we both discuss it. BUT this new therapist is driving me nuts.
She say she cares but yet she demands from me. Sometimes she put my health at risk and up on that she voice her disapproval with my doctors advice then she turns around and say she is not a doctor.
Sometimes she state that we are working on my commuication skills. Yet she is driving me nuts because every week is unpredicatble. I neevr had a therapist iike her. WHat shock me is during a session she would say that I need to do something and I said I really don ot want to she turns around would demand me to in a weird tone. In away I am afriad of her. I cannot explain to my case manager.
My case manager spoke to her and change her mind now they are on both the same side YET my case manager is very supportive. SOmetimes I quit and is confused because I do not get it. Clueless. Maybe you can explain to me.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
I wish I could help, but honestly, a neurologist should diagnose any sensory disorder, much like an MD/neuro/psych trio should diagnose, IMHO.
In any case.... it's okkay to tell a thrapist "I shut down when you (fill in blank)."
Puma healing.
Sensory Modulation Disorder (SMD)
Sensory-Based Motor Disorder (SBMD)
Sensory Discrimination Disorder.
Do you know which you have?
Who told you that you had the disorder? They are responsible for explaining it to you as well as telling you what you do to make them feel you have it. If they can't or won't it's time to seek help somewhere else.
As for the rest it sounds like there are communication failures all around. Therapists can and do challenge us to do difficult things. Therapy is HARD and a LOT of work. We hear things that are upsetting and that we'd really rather not. But your therapist should be there to help you in a constructive manner. You should never be made to feel afraid. You, your Dr., your therapist and case manager all need to be on the same page and working with each other for your benefit. If your therapist doesn't agree with your Dr. she needs to communicate with them to understand their position and if she can't get behind your Dr. then she needs to refer you to someone who is willing to and can.
Make no doubt the journey is hard but don't give up. If you don't feel like you are getting what you need move on. Clear, concise answers to your questions are crucial. Do not be afraid to ask questions or say you don't understand or that something is making you feel uncomfortable. Write them down if you have to. Do what you need to do for you....please. (((hugs)))
True Therapy is hard work but I never had a therapist who tells me to Google and I asked her to explain more and she doesn't. None of my former therapist ever goes against my doctor advice. She wanted me to talk to my Psy doctor because she said doctors doesn't listen to Therapist. And sure enough my Psy doctor wanted me to talk to her myself.
Yet my former therapist freely spoke to My former Psy doctor. I am clueless. My therapist believes books will help everything. But I have a eye disorder and reading a book is a challenge just like reading a long letter etc.
I write or email and she wants me to bring it up yet tells me I lack communication skills and she wants to increase it. To be honest with you me been afraid to feel is not only with my therapist but everywhere except here on DS.
It is funny if she has to call all of them because I have a !it of doctors. The said thing is I met a speech therapist who told me that sensory disorder was to medical conditions but my therapist thinks it causes. Then she tells me that I am teaching her. I email her and told her how I feel. It changed but very little.
I appreciate you all. I don't have the energy to be at times much less to do.
I haven't had a professional therapist since the advent of televised medicine, but I've still had more than one therapist tell me to go to the library and look it up. The first of those therapists called me, "A help seeking denier," meaning that I was free in asking for help and even freer in finding fatal flaws in every scrap of help offered. He believed I had greater respect for discoveries I made on my own.
It confused, hurt and angered me deeply at the time, but decades later, I believe he was right. The best solutions really are the ones which come from my heart instead of somebody else's head.
It can be detrimental to your health to be pushed to move to fast.....
If you continue to see her Rose and if you're unsure of just what she's asking I would come right and tell her that.... She may be able to refer you to someone that you find that you work better with.... xo
Most of what she said does not make sense anymore. My case manager did an emergency zoom with me and was concern. She said I am not improving and I have been crying for my former therapist which is not a good sign. She said it has been awhile (Since July last year) and she sees me getting worst and not better. M y case manger is right, I have not felt lost for a very long time. And I feel like I am fading away minis my health issues. Now I am looking a new therapist. I pray that I will by Friday this week. I reach the point where I began to stop caring about much. There is one good news I can see a PCP until I find one.
