Going through some life and health issues. Nightmares come at times. The ghosts of the dead appear as amorphous black apparitions around me. There have been times when I have fallen out of bed, praying that God would take me away. Having friends does help. Not too many here in Northern Maine, so I look here on DS. Pretty new, I was on DS years ago, it help[ed. I'm back. I feel a kindred with others with PTSD.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
death is not the answer , but you do need friend my family i grew up with are all gone it suck i feel alone
Maybe if you journal the dream images or draw them? Then change the drawing so they are something else? I try that sometimes. And other times, just getting the image onto paper helps me not repeat it.
I am not quite sure how, but my 3 years (give or take) on DS make be feel older than being a Viet Nam era veteran. My favorite theory of that is, "Relativity." The internet moves much faster than real life so, relatively speaking, 3 years on the internet is shorter than the nearly 40 years since I was discharged from the Army.
Okay, okay. . . Putting away nerd glasses now. . .
Guess I oughta warn ya, I get even nerdier about dreams. Before I started taking my therapy program seriously, my nightmares were bad enough to make sleep deprivation pretty close to normal for me. Hallucinations were a natural result. That has been under control since ??mid 90's?? but the subject still triggers my hyper-expression with the greatest of ease. Add in a family tie to narcolepsy and. . . That is a potent button to push on my nerd panel.
Just a friendly, strictly personal warning.
Good to meet you, Wally. Hope to get to know you. I am curious to know if/how DS has changed since the last time you were here.
As for dreams, I'm not doing much bed falling lately, but you did remind me of how I wake up grinding me teeth from PTSD anxiety at times. I chipped one a little recently, so I've got to go to the dentist about it next week.
But over my years here, things have gradually gotten better. I wouldn't wan to go back, so I'll take coming here every day with gratitude.
