?? Screams From the Black Hole ??

arfie
This morning finds my meditations spinning from the summer of 1977, when I held a "Therapy Funeral," guided by the highly controversial theory that in cases of mental illness where family interest is sub-zero, it is best to, "heal as an orphan." The theory behind the "Therapy Funeral" was to consciously place a marker in my psyche that my recovery was my own. I have no family support. None. Finito. Period. It is what it is...
Of course, my over-sexed Clan is far from dead. Guess where future generations come from......... Whatever the ethics of the origins...... I have not had much daily interaction with them since 1977, but the bonds remain quite lively. I call that empty space where my heart still feels the family bonds, "The Black Hole."
My beloved's mother died in November, during the first weekend of the gall bladder explosion. He was near death himself during the funeral. His newly widowed Father has not been sounding too sound. The corporate raider tactics are a stress my beloved is not enjoying....
Hubby's recovery is looking good on the wifey-meter. There remains at least one more "Simple Procedure" ahead of us, but ... Wifey is happy with the progress.
The emotional part ??? It is not mine to sort, but 34 years of watching my beloved's face grow its retirement wrinkles has given me insights that are hard to ignore... Girl howdy, my tongue is aching to cluck...
I meditate upon how much of the yuck my tongue is aching to cluck has nothing to do with the in-law mysteries that are not mine to sort... How much of my bottled hyper-expression is really just more screams from my own familial Black Hole???
Thoughts and reality checks welcome...

My day...today...misplaced my debit card...didn't realize it until I got to the register after shopping to a full cart. Used a different debit card and pulled apart everything looking for missing debit card before I left parking lot. Got home, dropped keys. So now I have a missing debit card, missing keys. A full cartload to unload and put away. I got everything put away.Dumped purse for a...

Yeah, that black hole sucks, pun intended. Also gonna guess it's not just your genetic family's screams but maybe some of your frustration with the whole in-law thing. I get it. My sis-in-law will make me grind my teeth till one of us dies and probably thereafter. She's the one who inspired my soapbox up above, and boy did she make sure she pulled out a bigger, badder soapbox to tell me all about *my* family's ills....
Not saying any of that necessarily applies, Arfie, just that your comment about in-laws and black holes from our own pasts reminded me....and I'm underslept so I'm incredibly freaky-headed today.
Just remember, black holes only get you if you cross the event horizon. gentle support....
I have done formal therapy work for transference. Of course I cannot know, but I have a hunch it was already a problem when I was wandering away from the chaos of home as a toddler. Looking for ways to fill that sucking black hole is verily a theme in my life... Yes, it has surfaced as a problem with my husband's family, as well. Busying myself with their problems is a fairly instinctive way to fill such holes... Instinctive, but ... not too high in its functional probabilities...
And in the end, my beloved's parental issues are not mine to sort. Nobody can sort our internal confusions for us.

Yaddah, blah, and good night....
I will misquote one of my own poems: "Wish upon it like a shooting star, but the black hole never shines." No idea what yaddah or blah I'm saying there, but it's what's trying toc ome out. Argh....
Blessings, and the peace of happy bees upon you:-)
I remember well when it was on the radio when I was younger. Also how often I used that song to condemned myself. But I would always have to put up with everything that they did to me in silence.
The truth is for you, their actions have messed with the orbit of your world. What the father in law did in regards to the mini mall, up root-ed you and your family, and then many Bee minions in your care.
I am a firm believer that stress can effect physical diminish-ment. So I also believe the father in law added to beloved's health status.
With that said what real control do you have over them? Probably none.
The only real control you have, is how much you let them participate in your life.
Not much help, just thoughts. As I myself consider closing the door on my daughter. It's been a long few months.
Gentle hugs,
J.
I always wanted to go past the event horizon.
